The ELCA's (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) YAGM (Young Adults in Global Mission) program invites young adults ages 21-29 into a year long journey of international service. For the year 2022-2023 there will be 30 plus YAGM volunteers sent to four different countries of service. During this journey of accompaniment we will be asked to serve other communities, self-reflect, and look at Gods work in the world.
The ELCA uses the modal of accompaniment for our year of service. What this means is that we practice mutuality and walking alongside our global companions as we move through different areas of service. Some of the areas YAGM participants are asked to serve include but are not limited to human rights, education, health and development, ministry, and homelessness.
The four countries of service for this year are Senegal, Argentina and Uruguay, Jerusalem and West Bank, and the United Kingdom. Each location has different service opportunities and areas to connect and grow both with the community and God.
